La Liga slipping away: Setien
Bil

Barcelona failed to register a win yet again last night.

This time they were held back by a superior Atletico Madrid side who drew 2-2 on the night at Nou Camp.

The match was an exciting one with both teams playing attractive attacking football when on possession. However, the result is what mattered most for Barcelona having started 2 points behind league leaders Real Madrid on the night and finding themselves possibly 4 points behind now if Real win their game in hand.

With only 6 games left to play for Barcelona, the title may have slipped away for the Catalans who need to not just match but overtake Real’s point tally due to their inferior head to head against the Galacticos.

“It’s a shame,” Barcelona boss Setien said after the match. “It’s getting harder all the time. We are getting farther away from the title, but we have to keep working.”

Asked if he was pleased with his team’s play, he said: “Fairly happy. It’s not easy to play against Atletico.

“They are disciplined and physically strong. Defensively too. But I’m happy with my players.”

“I didn’t do it before because the ones who were on were doing well. Riqui [Puig], [Leo] Messi, [Luis] Suarez.

“It’s not easy to find a place without destabilizing the team.”

And asked about his future after a difficult week at the club, he said: “I don’t feel questioned.”
