Lamine Yamal, Spain’s teenage sensation, has shared an inspiring message from his Barcelona boss, Hansi Flick, ahead of the Euro 2024 final.
As Yamal prepares to celebrate his 17th birthday on July 13, he is also gearing up to help Spain clinch the title in a highly anticipated match against England on July 14.
Yamal has been a standout performer throughout the tournament, and Spain’s coach, Luis de la Fuente, has shown unwavering trust in him.
Yamal’s equalizing goal against France was a game-changer, making him the youngest scorer in the competition’s history.
Flick’s prediction of Yamal’s goal before the clash with France demonstrates his keen eye for talent.
Reflecting on the journey, Yamal expressed his excitement and determination.
“Playing in a European Championship and reaching the final is an incredible experience. The most important thing is to win, and that’s our goal,” he said in an interview with Mundo Deportivo.
Flick’s support has been a constant source of motivation for Yamal.
“Flick sends us messages before and after games. He told me I would score before the France game. I’m happy to have this relationship, even if it’s just via WhatsApp. He’ll probably write to me again before the final,” Yamal shared with a smile.
With Barcelona set to resume preseason training, Flick plans to give breaks to players who have competed in the latter stages of Euro 2024 before their preseason tour in the USA at the end of July.
Yamal’s focus, however, remains on bringing glory to Spain in the final showdown.
