PSG have made their intentions clear on Lionel Messi.
If there is a chance to sign him, they will clearly jump at it.
And fortunately, right now, they do. Messi is in the final six months of his contract and is free to talk to outside parties. PSG could sign him on a pre-contract agreement which means he will move to Parc-des Princes for free in the summer.
Messi’s future has been made clear ever since the last summer. And as the season has progressed it is looking increasingly likely that he will leave. So far, Barca have been unable to agree terms with him and chances of that happening are low without the right president to lead negotiations.
PSG chief, Leonardo told French Football, “Great players like Messi will always be on PSG’s list. But for now is not the time to talk or dream about this. But we are sitting at the table of all those who follow this matter closely. Well, we’re not really sitting down, but our chair is reserved in case … Four months in football is an eternity, especially in this day and age.”
Neymar has already called out for a reunion with his former teammate, calling Messi to join him in the French capital.
