A significant rumour concerning Liverpool star Luis Díaz’s future surfaced early this week. This comes as there are new rumours that the winger is considering moving to Spain to play for Barcelona. It goes without saying that during the transfer window this past summer, the name of attacker Díaz was prominently featured in the news in Catalunya’s capital. The 27-year-old was made a top target by Deco and company during Barcelona’s pursuit of left-wing reinforcements.

As Díaz went on to play a key part under the direction of new Liverpool manager Arne Slot, no such transfer was ultimately planned. As previously mentioned, however, if the most recent rumour circulating in the press on Tuesday is any indication, a Camp Nou move for the South American may very well be imminent in 2025.

Luis Díaz Sets Sights on Barcelona Move for Next Summer

Ever since the summer transfer window, when he became a top target due to Deco’s desire to strengthen the left wing, Díaz’s name has been closely associated with Barcelona’s transfer aspirations. All may not be settled, though, based on reports that were making the rounds in the media on Tuesday. With 2025 appearing to be a more realistic year for this move, the Colombian international seems to have set his sights on moving to Camp Nou.

According to a report by Diario Sport, which cites Colombian publication “Antena2,” negotiations to extend Díaz’s current Liverpool contract have stalled because of rumours that the former attacker is prioritizing a move to Barcelona: “The player is evidently ready for a change, with his primary focus on playing for Barça,” the report states.
