Messi will become a free agent in the summer.
The Argentinian is set to become a free agent by the end of this season and it’s not yet confirmed where his next destination would be.
His former club teammate Luis Suarez wants him to end his career at Camp Nou and a move away from the Catalan giants wouldn’t do much for him.
Luis Suarez left Camp Nou last summer to join rivals Atletico Madrid and has racked up 19 goals with the league leaders.
There are reports suggesting that Messi is agreeing on a new deal with Barcelona despite interests from Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.
“The best thing would be to finish his career where he has been happier,” Suarez said in an interview with TV3, cited by the Daily Mirror.
“If you ask me, as a friend, I’ll tell you that I don’t see him anywhere other than Barcelona, it wouldn’t be good for him. But he will be the one to make the decision.
“Barcelona is the team that has given him everything and he has also given everything to the club.”
