Manchester City Waiting For Lionel Messi To Begin Transfer Talks

Manchester City are simply waiting for Lionel Messi to make contact over a future move.

Barcelona have not yet found a solution to his contract situation and the Argentine ace looks set on leaving this summer.

Not many clubs can afford to sign him even on a free transfer. PSG and Manchester City are the biggest suitors. City are open to a two or three-year deal with an option for Messi to finish his career in the MLS at New York City, a franchise club of theirs.

Barca president, Joan Laporta is still in conversation with the 33-year-old who continues to lead the squad. He alone is their best offensive weapon, capable of leading this team to a La Liga title this season.

Barcelona could also see a complete exodus of some of their biggest names. Ousmane Dembele is being considered for sale but Ronald Koeman still favours the Frenchman.

The Dutch boss said, “He brings us a lot with his speed in one-on-one situations and he’s played in all positions. He is better physically, the key to his season has been his consistency in his work. Of course, I would like him to stay with us.”
