Marc Casado was expected to return to Barcelona for the upcoming campaign after tearing a ligament at the end of March. Nevertheless, Casado has already resumed his training and may play in the season’s closing stages.
In mid-March, Casado suffered an injury while playing more than 30 minutes against Atletico Madrid. After being sidelined for two months, he might have been able to play in the season’s last game or two, depending on if Barcelona advanced to the Champions League final.
But according to Sport, Casado resumed practicing with the rest of the team on Friday, which might allow him to play in the season’s final six or seven games. Although it appears doubtful that he would be called upon to play in this weekend’s match against Real Valladolid or in the Champions League semifinal against Inter, he might play a role in the last Liga games.
Barcelona Player Returns to Training
Barca’s recent injury problems have left them in dire need of good news. Due to injuries, the Catalan powerhouses are already missing Robert Lewandowski and Alejandro Balde. Jules Kounde’s name has been added to their list of absentees following his strike against Inter on Wednesday.
Although the French full-back will likely be sidelined for three weeks due to a distal injury to his left thigh’s biceps femoris, Hansi Flick’s team received a boost elsewhere on Friday when Marc Casado returned to training
The 21-year-old midfielder has been out for more than a month after rupturing the external ligament in his knee during Barcelona’s 2-4 victory over Atletico Madrid before the March international break. He will make his La Liga comeback on Saturday night when Barcelona visits Real Valladolid.
Despite having recovered a little earlier than expected, Casado is not expected to play the entire game against the demoted Spanish team. With the goal of getting him back in the “Clasico” against Real Madrid on May 11, he might be offered a few minutes at Municipal Jose Zorrilla.
