Matheus Fernandes is ecstatic to play for Barcelona.
The Brazilian was signed in January from Palmeiras and was loaned off to Spanish side Real Valladolid until the end of the season.
The 22-year old who will be a part of the Blaugrana squad next term explains what fans can expect from him in the next season.
He said, “I want to win important titles, my dream has always been to play for Barça, now that I have this opportunity I have to leave the best possible impression, and if possible, finish my career here.
“I always had the ambition and the dream of wearing the Barcelona shirt one day, playing alongside great players, players who have inspired me all my childhood, to be able to follow the path, and when I I found out, when I found out that Barça were interested, it was very gratifying for me to know that I was working and doing well, because if there is a great club interested, it is because you are doing a good job.”
Matheus also remarked: “My idols … I have always noticed many players, but the first of all was (Sergi) Busquets, I was always inspired by Busquets. I’ve had others too, players like Xavi, (Andres) Iniesta or (Lionel) Messi, all of them are references for me.”
