Memphis Depay identified as perfect Luis Suarez replacement

Barcelona are preparing a move for striker Luis Suarez to Juventus this summer.

According to reports, Barcelona are looking to replace their star striker Luis Suarez with Lyon forward Memphis Depay who’s on the last year of his contract with the club.

Luis Suarez, 33, is Barcelona’s third-highest goalscorer of all time and is set to make a move to Serie A side Juventus this summer.

The Blaugrana can sign Memphis Depay for just £17million, as the Lyon forward is on the final year of his contract. 

The 26-year old’s move to Camp Nou this summer would see him reunite with manager Ronald Koeman who coached the international side of Netherlands over the past two years.

Since his arrival from Manchester United in 2017, Depay scored 57 goals in 139 matches for the French side.

Depay scored 15 times this season for Lyon despite missing a chunk of the season with ACL injury but was part of the squad that made to the semi-finals of the Champions League.

The former Manchester United man has enjoyed immense success in France earning 51 caps for the country. 

Other Dutch players such as Georginio Wijnaldum has become a subject of discussion following the arrival of Ronald Koeman and is keeping an eye out on the Liverpool midfielder.
