Messi Vs Ronaldo: The verdict is out!

Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo has been the battle of ages for football now.

They will probably go down as the two best players anyway. And fans have had their option divided. However, what no fan has ever done is dismiss the their non-favorite as a nobody. Until now that is.

Marco Van Basten, the former Milan and Netherlands coach has pulled apart the debate by declaring that Ronaldo lovers dont know football.

“Cristiano is a great player, but those who say he is better than Messi know nothing about football, or they are saying it in bad faith,” the former Ajax, Milan and Oranje hitman told Corriere dello Sport. 

“Messi is one of a kind. Impossible to imitate and impossible to repeat. A player like him comes along every 50 or 100 years. 

“As a kid, he fell into the football genius pot.”

Van Basten remain one of the better players to play the game so should his opinion count for gold? Or will Ronaldo fans now call it the bickering of yet another washed up old man?
