There is no agreement over Erling Haaland joining Barcelona!
Mino Raiola, the forward’s agent, cleared up all the rumours of a summer deal.
Other sources claimed that Barcelona presidential candidate, Emili Roussard had a deal in place to get Haaland. It turns out to be not true.
“It’s fake news,” Raiola told Sport1. “I’ve never spoken with any candidate about Haaland and I won’t. When a new president is elected, they can call me.”
Haaland switched over from Red Bull Salzburg to Borussia Dortmund last January for around £25m. He has hit the ground running, winning the Golden Boy award in 2020. One can almost say with certainty that Haaland is destined for bigger honours in his career for which he might have to leave Dortmund.
Whether he will leave after this season itself, remains to be seen. Barcelona’s presidential race is gearing up to be a spicy one. Almost every candidate is promising big changes like bringing back Neymar or adding some other star to the squad like Haaland.
Barca will elect a president after the results on 21 January. Till then, we can expect a lot of worldly promises such as this one.
