RCD Mallorca has officially completed the signing of young winger Jan Virgili from FC Barcelona.

Youngster Jan Virgili Secures Move from Barcelona to Mallorca

The 19-year-old talent has signed a permanent deal with the La Liga side, committing his future to the club for the next five seasons.

The agreement, announced by both clubs on Thursday, sees Mallorca secure the promising attacker for a reported fee of €3.5 million. This sum grants the Balearic club 50% of the player’s rights.

As part of the complex deal, Barcelona will retain a significant stake in Virgili’s future, securing a percentage of any future transfer fee and a right of first refusal, meaning they will have the first option to re-sign him.

Virgili arrived at Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy just last summer and immediately made a powerful impact. He played a crucial role for the Juvenil A team, contributing to a historic treble-winning campaign.

His impressive performances earned him a debut with Barca Atletic, the club’s reserve team, where he continued to showcase his potential.

Seeking regular first-team football to aid his development, Virgili moves to a competitive Mallorca side that can offer him a clearer pathway to top-flight minutes.

This transfer provides the teenager with a vital opportunity to continue his growth in La Liga, while Barcelona strategically safeguards its interest in a player they clearly rate highly for the future.
