Neymar left Barcelona in summer 2018.

But he has constanly been linked with a Camp Nou return.

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly begun talks with Neymar about a new contract with the Ligue 1 champions, with the Brazil star said to be open to renewing his current deal. The 27-year-old joined PSG from Barcelona for a world record fee in 2017, but has continually been linked with a return to Spain.

According to Daily Mail, the two parties have opened discussions over a new deal, with Neymar happy and settled in the French capital. The report adds that the former Santos forward is still subject to interest from Barcelona and that the Blaugrana were said to be weighing up a bid.

The details have also been reported by Footmercato in France, and the contract offer is simply astonishing. They have indicated that Paris Saint-Germain are prepared to offer him €36.8 million per year to ignore the Barcelona speculation and commit himself to the club for the long term.

Neymar has made 73 appearances for PSG since his arrival, scoring 64 goals. However, the French giants have not gone past the last 16 of the Champions League in either of his previous two seasons, losing out to Real Madrid and Manchester United respectively. Even PSG chief Maxwell recently insisted that there are no plans to lose the Brazilian ace at the end of the season.” Can PSG extend Neymar? I hope so. We renewed Marquinhos and Verratti. Other players are negotiating. I hope he will stay a long time”, he told Telefoot.
