In a La Liga encounter against Girona on Saturday, Pedri made his 100th appearance for Barcelona as a substitute

The midfielder, who joined from Las Palmas, made his debut in 2020, just two months shy of his 18th birthday, and has since established himself as an important member of the team.

The Spain international has consistently been their standout midfielder when he’s played, garnering comparisons to both boss Xavi and Andres Iniesta despite the presence of players like Sergio Busquets, Frenkie de Jong, and Gavi in the squad.

He only made 22 appearances last season due to hamstring problems, but he has since made 100 matches for the Spanish team. Although Xavi decided to rest Pedri for his 100th game, he was compelled to play when Ousmane Dembele sustained an injury shortly before the 30-minute mark.

Then, to celebrate his 100th game, he scored his 15th goal while wearing the jersey of Barcelona, giving his club the lead over Girona. Pedri has yet to score a goal for his nation but has already established himself as an important member of La Roja, starting the bulk of games at Euro 2020 and the 2022 World Cup.

Given that he is only 20 years old and has already earned 18 caps, barring any catastrophic injuries, he will undoubtedly play in more than 100 matches for Spain.
