Guardiola said his time at the Camp Nou is over.

Pep Guardiola, probably the most decorated coach in Barcelona’s history has denied reports that he will return to Camp Nou following Josep Maria Bartomeu’s resignation.

The Spaniard has entered into the final year of his contract and presidential candidate Victor Font has expressed his desire to bring Pep Guardiola back to Camp Nou if he gets elected.

Guardiola won 14 trophies in four years with the Blaugrana when he was in charge between 2008 and 2012.

There have been speculations that the 49-year old could leave Etihad if he fails to make a mark in the Champions League this season.

‘My period as Barcelona manager is over. I think once in a lifetime you have to do things.

‘There are incredible people who can be in charge there, now for example Ronald Koeman.

‘It’s over, I will come back to my city to see my club, to watch the game, it’s done.’

He added: ‘I am incredibly happy here. I’m delighted to be in Manchester and I hope I can do a good job this season to stay longer.’
