Barcelona star Gerard Pique wants Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt to avoid Barca move. The duo had a conversation regarding this and it has been revealed.
According to the Sport, De Ligt, when leaving Ajax in 2019, wanted to sign for Barcelona but during negotiations, he learned a detail which made him change his mind.
De Ligt met Barcelona center-back on a holiday to the Caribbean and they spoke about his possible arrival. Barca man told him not to come because he would not get minutes in Xavi’s lineup.
We all know that Pique and Clement Lenglet were the centre-backs at the time under Ernesto Valverde. De Ligt plays on Pique’s side. De Ligt felt threatened and went to Juventus.
Barca centre-back denies this incident but De Ligt and his agent Mino Raiola made it clear.
