Robert Lewandowski has etched his name in football history once again, rising to become the third-highest goal scorer of all time across Europe’s top five leagues.
Lewandowski Breaks Into Europe’s Top Three All-Time Scorers with Barcelona Brace
The prolific Polish striker achieved this remarkable feat during Barcelona’s victory over Sevilla, netting twice to bring his total for the Catalan giants to 73 goals.
Lewandowski’s brace not only secured a crucial win for Barcelona but also pushed his career tally in Europe’s elite leagues to 366 goals.
In doing so, he surpassed legendary Bayern Munich forward Gerd Muller, whose 365 goals stood as a benchmark for decades.
Muller, a player Lewandowski has often been compared to, now drops to fifth in the all-time rankings.
The 36-year-old Lewandowski now finds himself tied for third place alongside Tottenham Hotspur icon Jimmy Greaves, another legendary figure in football history.
Only Cristiano Ronaldo (495 goals) and Lionel Messi (496 goals) sit ahead of him, with Messi narrowly leading the all-time scoring race.
While Lewandowski’s climb to the top may seem like a long shot, the Polish forward has shown no signs of slowing down.
With his sharp goal-scoring instincts still intact, he could realistically push past the 400-goal mark if he maintains his current pace for the remainder of the season.
The achievement solidifies Lewandowski’s legacy as one of the greatest forwards of his generation, having already dominated both the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich and now continuing to thrive at Barcelona in La Liga.
As he nears the twilight of his career, the question remains how much further Lewandowski can go in rewriting the record books.
