Roberto Martinez is tipped to replace Ronald Koeman at Barcelona.

The Belgium coach could leave his national team and replace Ronald Koeman at Barcelona.

He is one of the four candidates for this position along with Xavi, Andrea Pirlo and Marcelo Gallardo.

Martinez is rumoured to have the backing of Jordi Cryuff but he doesn’t seem to be in a rush to leave his national team role until the 2022 World Cup.

“There is nothing at all,” Martinez said. “There are no contacts.

“The basis of my friendship with Jordi [Cruyff] is that we separate the private from the professional.

“At no point have I asked Jordi what my situation is in Barcelona. I also don’t believe he has the role to appoint a possible new trainer.”

“In football you never know what tomorrow will bring,” he added.

“I get up every morning as if I were working for Belgium until the last day of my contract, but I realize that many circumstances can happen along the way.”
