Ronald Koeman Wants A New Striker At Barcelona

Ronald Koeman has publicly demanded a new striker.

Barcelona are currently financially strapped and are not looking to do much business in January.

Between Antoine Griezmann, Lionel Messi and Martin Braithwaite, there seems to be a lack of cohesion up front. Luis Suarez’s exit meant there was no clear target man who would deliver goals on a regular basis.

Koeman was the one who wanted Suarez to leave but now wants to bring in a player of that profile.

“There’s no need to repeat what we said at the start of the season, that we need someone up front to have more competition, more goals and more efficiency, but it depends on a lot of things,” said Koeman.

Barca won 1-0 over Huesca through Frenkie de Jong’s effort. When speaking about the match, Koeman said, “Ignoring the last 20 minutes we were good in our play and it wasn’t easy against such a tight defence. We were calm playing on the wings and we scored a great goal.

“In the end we suffered a little because they tried to create something. They crossed in the ball and we defended it well. If you don’t get two or three goals to kill the game you always suffer a bit.”
