Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal eye Barcelona’s Vitor Roque

In a latest transfer rumour, Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal have approached Barcelona with a serious interest in acquiring young striker Vitor Roque.

The 19-year-old Brazilian, who joined the Catalan club in January for an initial €30 million plus add-ons, has faced a challenging start at Camp Nou.

Despite his promising stint at Athletico Paranaense, where he netted 28 goals in 81 appearances, Roque has struggled to secure a regular spot under Barcelona’s former boss, Xavi.

With Xavi now out and Hansi Flick taking over, the managerial change has yet to spark a revival for Roque’s prospects. Barcelona, keen on managing their Financial Fair Play situation, appear open to parting ways with the forward.

Roque’s potential move to Al-Hilal could be a significant one, providing him the opportunity to team up with Brazilian superstar Neymar, who joined the Saudi club last year.

Roque’s exit would not only boost Barcelona’s finances but also impact their forward depth. The club is already exploring new attacking options, including Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams, Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig, and Mikel Merino of Real Sociedad.

However, losing Roque could leave Barcelona with fewer alternatives behind Robert Lewandowski, especially with Marc Guiu’s recent transfer to Chelsea.

As Roque and his representatives weigh their options, the next steps will be crucial in shaping his career and Barcelona’s upcoming season.
