On Saturday evening at La Cartuja (often referred to as Villamarín for Real Betis), the festive mood following FC Barcelona’s thrilling 5–3 victory over Real Betis was overshadowed by a controversy in the stands.
Stadium Drama — Yamal’s Father Kicked Out Amid Barcelona’s 5-3 Win Over Betis
After a flurry of goals — including a brace and hat-trick by Ferran Torres and a penalty converted by teenage star Lamine Yamal — the father of Yamal, Mounir Nasraoui, was escorted out of the stadium by security.
Reports indicate Nasraoui had repeatedly provoked Betis supporters with hostile gestures and taunts.
Lamine Yamal’s father had to leave the stadium in the 70th minute during Betis vs. Barça.
He celebrated the Barça goals intensely which got the home fans angry, and they started calling for his removal.
Security then walked up to the player’s father and asked him to leave… pic.twitter.com/kVx0pbW5qB

According to eyewitnesses quoted by journalists at the game, his celebratory reactions — especially after Barcelona goals were directed provocatively toward home fans seated nearby, resulting in increasing tension in the hospitality section.
As the match progressed, the atmosphere in the stand deteriorated. After Yamal’s penalty just before the hour mark pushed Barcelona to a 5–1 lead, Nasraoui continued his provocative behaviour prompting security staff to intervene to calm the situation and remove him from his seat.
Though he was escorted out, he avoided further confrontation. The match ended 5–3, with late goals from Real Betis doing little to spoil Barcelona’s dominance.
The incident underscores the challenges faced by clubs and stadiums in maintaining order among emotionally charged supporters even when those supporters are family of superstar players.
While the focus was firmly on the pitch, where Yamal’s performance and Torres’ hat-trick stole the spotlight, Nasraoui’s ejection shifted some attention back to the stands and the importance of respectful conduct.
