Sevilla president sends message to Barcelona over De Jong

Sevilla president Jose Castro sends the message to Barcelona over De Jong plans. Luke De Jong joined Barcelona on deadline day on a season-long loan from Sevilla. Sevilla will resist Barcelona attempts to send back the Dutch international in January.

Xavi’s side is looking for a way to break the deal with Sevilla. The process would be hard as Sevilla don’t want Dutchman back. Barcelona would like to lose the Netherlands forward in the transfer window.

President Jose Castro said to COPE Sevilla: “In this moment we aren’t thinking about De Jong returning in the winter.”

Jong may have to stay at Camp Nou until the end of the season. The 31-year-old player has made 6 appearances in La Liga 2021-22 and scored one goal. He was also featured in Barcelona’s three Champions League fixtures.
