As the start of Barcelona’s preseason campaign approaches on July 10, the forward-thinking Ansu Fati continues to be a hot topic. Fati was supposed to leave the Catalans this summer, not too long ago. However, since then, things seem to have changed, and it seems that at preseason camp, new coach Hansi Flick is willing to give him another chance.
This may be the reason Barcelona decided to reconsider their intention to sell Fati this summer and may give Flick a chance to further evaluate his abilities. After his disappointing time at Brighton, it appears that he will be going on loan. Given his rising salary, Barcelona will have their hands full finding a team ready to pay a significant portion of it.
Although Fati, 21, is still eager to find a way to stay, Matteo Moretto stated on Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefing that if Fati must leave, he would prefer to remain in Spain for the upcoming season.
Ansu Fati preference will shape future as Barcelona seek exit
For Fati, Sevilla has already put forward a loan bid with a buyout option. But Barcelona has a dilemma because it is unlikely that their offer will allow them to pay even half of Fati’s salary. Sevilla’s offer is not fiscally viable in the eyes of the Blaugrana, who are waiting for better ones.
In the meantime, Sevilla has already had discussions with the player’s representative in an attempt to pitch Pimienta’s concept. Ansu Fati will stay with the club until Barcelona receives an improved offer from Sevilla or receives proposals from other parties.
