Barcelona midfielder Riqui Puig isn’t short of offers ahead of the summer market
Puig came off the bench to score against Osasuna on Sunday after being sidelined for several weeks. The midfielder took advantage of the opportunity provided by Xavi to exhibit his talent and place himself in the shop window ahead of the summer transfer window.
Barça has had several loan offers, primarily from LaLiga clubs, but also from clubs outside of Spain.
Many teams have contacted the club to learn more about the issue, and the club has stated that if he does not play more soon, the best alternative is a loan transfer to play consistently and grow.
It hasn’t been easy for Puig, who has been passed by multiple midfielders. The rise of Pedri, Gavi, and Nico has pushed him to the sidelines, trailing Frenkie de Jong and Sergio Busquets.
With so many midfield alternatives, Barça will allow Puig to depart.
For the time being, Barça’s plan is to keep him with the club while allowing him to play elsewhere. And there will be plenty of opportunities. The majority of Primera teams would take him on loan, although English club Wolverhampton Wanderers, as well as Italian and German clubs, are also interested.
