Barcelona’s long-standing contract issue with their numero uno goalkeeper Marc Andre Ter-Stegen has finally come to an end.

The German international has reportedly agreed to extend his contract at Nou Camp to 2025. Ter-Stegen initially joined the club for €12m back in 2014 from Borussia Monchengladbach.

The 28-year-old has become one of the best custodians in the game since and is highly rated amongst his colleagues in the current circuit. The determining factor that separates from the likes of Oblak and Courtois in La Liga is his ability with his feet.

Besides being an excellent shot-stopper and a dominant figure in the box, Ter-Stegen is also very neat with his footwork and perhaps the best sweeper in the modern-day game. As is expected in football, with a growing reputation Ter-Stegen became the subject of interest for many clubs including the likes of Chelsea.

However, according to Italian reporter Fabrizio Romano, the chase for Ter-Stegen is about to become a lot harder to sign for any team as the player has agreed to pledge his future to Barcelona.
