One of the most elite coaches currently available on the European market is Thomas Tuchel
Since his time at Chelsea abruptly ended during the first half of the season, the German genius has been without a club. Since then, a number of clubs have been vying for his services, with Tottenham Hotspur recently appearing as one of the likely destinations.
Tuchel, however, has no interest in joining Tottenham, claims Florian Plettenberg. The former Borussia Dortmund coach wants to join a bigger club, thus the move to north London is not appealing to him.
Tuchel is actually interested in working for either Barcelona or Real Madrid. The German is especially interested in joining Barça because he admires Pep Guardiola’s playing philosophy and the illustrious La Masia academy, which has produced some of the most gifted athletes in sports history.
When Barça was eliminated from the Champions League group stages in the first part of the season, questions were raised about Xavi’s position at the team. However, the Blaugrana have excelled in home matches and most recently captured the Spanish Supercup.
Due to the newfound confidence in Xavi as Barcelona’s head coach as a result of this, Tuchel will have to wait for his chance to lead the Catalan giants. However, the 49-year-old is open to joining Barça’s bitter rivals Real Madrid, who might potentially be in need of a new manager at the end of the current campaign or at the very least in 2024.
