Barcelona star Arturo Vidal and Chilean teammate Alexis Sanchez are to be put in quarantine upon reach Chile for the World Cup qualifier this month.

The Chilean goverment is taking all steps necessary to prevent any further spread of the virus in Chile and the orders to quarantine Vidal and Sanchez came straight from the health minister on Tuesday.

Vidal and Sanchez who will be coming in from Uruguary after a World Cup qualifier on 26 March, will be landing in Chile.

“We do not make any distinction by people’s profession because nobody is immune to this virus and indeed the quarantine determined today for Italy applies to everyone,” said Health Minister Jaime Manalich, according to local news website Emol.

“Of course, if these players want to work out on a machine in their homes, or all be quarantined together at Juan Pinto Duran (the national football stadium), then that’s their call.”

Vidal plays for Barcelona and Sanchez plays for Inter Milan, and both countries, Spain and Italy, have been badly hit – Italy being the worst affected of them all. Indeed, taking necessary measures will be important for Chile as a country. Whether both will be placed in quarantine together or separetely is up to the players.
