Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr has claimed that Barcelona teenage sensation Lamine Yamal possesses the extraordinary ability to win the World Cup entirely on his own for Spain.
“He Can Do It Alone” — Vinicius Jr’s Massive Praise for Spain Wonderkid Yamal
Despite the fierce rivalry between their clubs, the Brazilian forward put aside all animosity to praise the 17-year-old winger ahead of this summer’s tournament.
“Spain have Lamine Yamal, who is one of the best players in the world,” Vinicius told Caze TV.
“He does incredible things on the pitch. He is a player who can win the World Cup single-handedly. He is one of those players you pay to watch play.”
Yamal, who finished second in the 2025 Ballon d’Or rankings, has delivered stunning numbers for Barcelona.
The teenage prodigy has registered 49 goals and 52 assists across 151 appearances for the Catalan club.
His current campaign looks particularly impressive, with 24 goals and 18 assists in 45 matches.
The young Spaniard already owns three La Liga titles and earned a European Championship winners’ medal with Spain in 2024.
He has scored six goals in 25 international caps since his debut in September 2023. Yamal now works intensely to recover from an injury setback and lead his country this summer.
Vinicius, the 2024 FIFA Best Men’s Player, remains a formidable force for Real Madrid.
He has made 375 appearances for the capital club, contributing 128 goals and 100 assists. The 25-year-old scored 22 times and provided 14 assists during the 2025-26 season.
Both superstars now focus fully on their World Cup campaigns. Spain kick off Group H against Cape Verde on June 15, followed by matches with Saudi Arabia and Uruguay.
Brazil open their Group C campaign against Morocco on June 13, then face Haiti and Scotland.
