It’s no new news that Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum has generated interest in FC Barcelona.
However, there is a twist in the tale as Wijnaldum reveals a condition on which he shall sign with FC Barcelona. Sky Sports pundit Kaveh Solhekol releases the updates of the transfer talks between them. According to Solhekol, Wijnaldum will only sign with the Catalan club if he is offered a long term deal.
“Barcelona have not made approach for Gini Wijnaldum yet but he’s highly-rated by new manager Ronald Koeman,” Solhekol tweeted.
“Wijnaldum’s Liverpool contract runs out next summer. No talks at the moment about new deal. He loves Liverpool.
“Big decision IF Barcelona offered him a long-term deal.”
Wijnaldum talks about the upcoming new Premier League campaign – and why he’s excited about this particular season, what with Leeds coming in as a new team.
“Tough fixtures but we just have to get good results”, he told Liverpoolfc.com.
“We don’t know what we can expect. We know the fixtures and everything is tight and that you’re going to play a lot of games.
“But I think we will see how tough it is when we are in the situation, when you play game after game. Then we’re going to see how tough it is.
“But we dealt with that situation before in some periods in the season. We know how to deal with it but it’s going to be difficult. Most periods of the season we’re going to play a lot of games. We just have to deal with the situation.
