Xavi gives an update on Adama Traore's future at Barcelona

Adama Traore’s future at Barcelona looks uncertain at this moment.

The Spaniard has been struggling for game time under manager Xavi since his arrival at Camp Nou in January.

He has played only 63 minutes in La Liga since February due to the recent blistering form of Ousmane Dembele.

Over the weekend game against Mallorca, Dembele was out with tonsillitis and his natural replacement Adama Traore was left out on the bench.

Barcelona does have the option to sign Traore permanently from Wolves for €30million but it’s likely he will return to Wolves in the summer.

Xavi said: “I don’t want to talk about next season because we need to focus on what’s important right now.

“Adama is helping us, I told him you are going to help us, maybe you won’t play every minute but he’s helped when he’s come in, given assists, regardless of the minutes he’s played. He’s a pure winger who can get away from defenders, put the ball in. I’m very happy with him. I think he’s played well.”
