Barcelona will allow around 17 players to leave the club.
Barca manager Xavi has instructed the Barcelona hierarchy to go ahead with the signing of an experienced midfielder this summer. They need a new midfield line for the season 2024-25. Barcelona had a poor season in La Liga and is likely to finish third this time.
The Catalan giants remain trophyless this season and they want to chase the trophy next season. Barcelona were handed a boost when Xavi reversed his decision to resign from his role as head coach ahead of the new season.
As per the reports of transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Xavi has given the green light for Barca officials to try to wrap up the addition of Guido Rodriguez.
The 30-year-old has been outstanding for Real Betis this season. He made 21 starts only due to injury. The Argentina international’s contract will expire at the end of June. Sporting director Deco has been informed that Rodriguez could excel at Barca.
Rodriguez has a two-year contract, plus the option of a third but he is yet to agree. He has made 128 starts and 10 substitute outings in La Liga since his transfer.
As per reports, Barcelona will allow around 17 players to leave the club. They will sell few of them and use that fund to sign new players.
