Barcelona forward Ansu Fati out with a knee injury.
The youngster got injured in the training session on Friday and Barcelona has yet to give a timeframe for his return.
But manager Xavi expects the forward to be available for Thursday’s El Clasico.
“Ansu Fati suffered a left knee contusion during this afternoon’s training session. He is out and his recovery will determine his availability,” Barcelona said on Twitter on Friday.
Fati struggled with his knee between late 2020 and early 2022 but is expected to make his return for the Copa del Rey semi-final.
On the other hand, Ousmane Dembele has missed the last six games due to his hamstring injury.
He has missed both ties against Manchester United in the Europa League play-off and will also miss the first leg of the Copa del Rey semifinal against Real Madrid.
Xavi explains that the winger is not 100% yet but is approaching a return.
“[Dembele] is fine,” Xavi added. “Yesterday, he trained well.
“He looks fine, but he’s not 100% ready yet. He’s about to return to team training, so it all depends on his recovery. We trust his instincts, he’s fine and that’s important.”
