Coaching Barcelona would be a dream for Xavi Hernandez.

Barcelona legend Xavi Hernandez, who is coaching Al-Sadd in Qatar says his dream is to coach for Barcelona but he is focused on his current job.

His name has recently come up repeatedly as a replacement for Quique Setien, but club president Josep Maria Bartomeu insists he is sticking with his current manager.

Xavi recently spoke to Spanish newspaper Marca

On coaching Barcelona:
“I don’t hide my desire to coach Barcelona. I have always said that my goal is to coach Barcelona. It is my home and it is my dream. But for now, I’m focusing on Al Sadd, and looking forward to the new season.”

On Quique Setién:
“First of all, Setién must be respected. I wish the team all the best. Sometimes Barcelona plays well, sometimes not. But I like the idea of Setién, who aspires to control the ball and offer an attractive style. Sometimes it’s not possible because of the opponent. We have seen some good Barça games under Quique.”

Do you think Lionel Messi will be able to play in the 2022 World Cup?
Xavi: “Messi is a monster. He is extremely competitive. He is fast and strong. He is like an animal. I am pretty sure he will be there in Qatar.”
