Inter Milan sporting director Javier Zanetti has suggested that Lautaro Martinez may remain at San Siro during the next transfer window.
Having starred for the Serie A title challengers this season, Martinez has been heavily linked with a future transfer to Barcelona.
The Catalan giants are in a position where they are able to activate the release clause of the Argentina international, said to be in excess of £90m.
However, Zanetti has hinted that his compatriot may be prepared to continue his career in Italy for the foreseeable future. Speaking to Radio Continental, the former defender said: “Right now, I see him having a future in Italian football. We are very happy with him and he is very happy too with Inter Milan.”
The 22-year-old still has over three years remaining on his contract.
