Eric Garcia is wanted by Barcelona and the club is preparing a second bid for the defender.

According to sporting director Ramon Planes, Barca are planning to make a second move for Eric Garcia.

The Spanish defender enters the last year of his contract and Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Garcia doesn’t want to sign a new contract with the club.

Garcia left the prominent La Masia academy to join Manchester City in 2017 and a return to Camp Nou seems the most likely destination for the 19-year old defender.

Manchester City are demanding €20million for Garcia but Barca won’t go higher than €15million for the 19-year old who has less than 12 months left on his contract.

But according to reports, Barca has to sell two defenders namely Samuel Umtiti and Jean Clair-Todibo to make any move for the City man.

“It’s true that we are looking for someone to help us in defence,’ Planes said. “Eric Garcia is a great player, made in Barcelona, who loves the club, but whether or not he can join depends on the market.

“The club’s idea is to build a young side alongside players who have given a lot to the club. Eric has that profile.”

Eric Garcia made 23 appearances in total for Pep Guardiola’s side.
