Barcelona looking at ways to prolong Cancelo’s stay at the club
Cancelo is on a loan deal with no buy option.
Barcelona are now looking to find options so they can keep Cancelo for a longer run. Joao Cancelo has cemented his place as a regular in Xavi’s starting lineup.
Man City defender is a key asset for Barcelona and he was impressive in Barcelona’s win over Porto in the Champions League. The 29-year-old helped them qualify for the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League.

Barcelona lacks a quality option at right-back and Cancelo is performing to Xavi’s satisfaction. Xavi and Deco agree that Barca should try to sign Cancelo permanently, who has a contract with Manchester City until 2027.
