Xavi is displeased with Barcelona’s early exit in the Champions League.

The Barcelona manager has asked his team to face the harsh reality that they are now a Europa League team.

The Blaugrana managed to score just two goals in all their six group-stage matches and are struggling domestically this campaign.

They are currently 7th in the Spanish top-flight and 16 points behind league-leaders Real Madrid.

Xavi has made his disappointment clear to the team and believes it’s time for a ‘new era’ at Camp Nou.

“I’m angry. This is the reality and it pisses me off. We have to tackle it face on. There’s nothing else for it. A new era starts today. We start from zero,” Xavi said.

“Barça’s objective is the Champions League, not the Europa League. But our reality now is the Europa League and we have to go all the way and win it. This is Barça’s goal – to win every game and win every title.”
