Barcelona Could Announce €10m Signing Of Angel Rodriguez Next Week

Barcelona are desperate to add an attacker into their ranks after Ousmane Dembele’s latest injury.

The Frenchman has been ruled out for six months with a hamstring tear. He follows Luis Suarez into the rehabilitation room who is set to miss three months on his own.

This is a major blow to Barcelona’s aspirations this season as they have already dropped out of the Copa del Rey. Quique Setien’s job has become ten times harder with the recent injury setbacks. If Barca manage to get the permission RFEF Medical Court, they could sign an attacker midway through the campaign.

Getafe’s Angel Rodriguez and Alaves’ Lucas Perez are primarily on their shortlist. They could sign the former by activating his €10m release clause.

Rodriguez is ready to consider a Barca switch if the Catalans were to come calling. The 32-year-old said, “What I know is what has been published in the press. There is nothing at the moment. I’m calm and focused on Getafe. I’m leaving everything on the pitch for this club, and as things stand, there is nothing.

“When the news is about a huge club like Barcelona, the repercussions are bigger, but since they are just rumours, I’m very calm. If they contacted me, I would have time to think about things. I have been here after many transfer windows with Getafe, and there is always talk that I will leave. That means I’m doing things well.”
