AC Milan interested in Aston Villa loanee Clement Lenglet.

The defender has struggled for opportunities at Barcelona over the past two seasons and was sent away on loan to Premier League club Aston Villa for the 2023/24 campaign.

He spent the last season on loan at Tottenham Hotspur and played around 35 games in all competitions.

The Frenchman still hasn’t played for Aston Villa in the top flight and made a few appearances in the European games.

He has found himself down the pecking order behind the likes of Pau Torres, Ezri Konsa and Diego Carlos and has not had a single minute of Premier League action.

Lenglet will continue to struggle for domestic action and is expected to seek an exit in the January window.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reported that AC Milan are currently enquiring about Lenglet’s situation at Villa Park.

The Rossoneri’s squad has been ravaged by several injuries at the heart of defence and they are looking for potential transfers this winter.

Romano said: “Nothing is close to being signed regarding the future of Lenglet but I have reported that AC Milan have asked for information on the player, that’s it for the moment. The club wanted to be informed so let’s see what they decide to do. Of course, the deal would be made with Barcelona and not with Aston Villa, but it’s still early stages.”
