Barcelona pursues Julian Nagelsmann for managerial position

Barcelona is targeting German National Team manager Julian Nagelsmann as a potential replacement for Xavi, who announced his decision to quit the club in June.

According to Diario SPORT, amid speculation regarding potential successors, Nagelsmann has emerged as a surprising contender.

The 36-year-old tactician, who is now devoted to his work with the German national team, is said to be looking for a new challenge after the 2019 European Championship.

Barcelona’s leadership is preparing to begin conversations with Nagelsmann’s representatives about the potential of him joining the club in June.

However, securing Nagelsmann’s services may prove difficult for Barcelona president Joan Laporta, given the coach’s availability following the Euros, which might continue until July depending on Germany’s performance.

Nagelsmann has an impressive track record, having led big German clubs such as Hoffenheim, RB Leipzig, and Bayern Munich, as well as the German national team.

His expertise in working with young talent and handling financial restraints coincides with Barcelona’s requirements for the future head coach.

While Nagelsmann’s lack of experience outside Germany could be perceived as a drawback, his managerial prowess and adaptability remain undeniable.

Barcelona, however, remains deliberative in its decision-making process, intending to evaluate all shortlisted candidates thoroughly and assess the club’s financial standing before finalizing a decision.
