With fresh acquisitions like Ilkay Gundogan, Joao Felix, Joao Cancelo, and Oriol Romeu making a significant impact on the team, Barcelona finally seems to have their team clicking

To ensure that their goals for the summer are realised, Barça will need to make every effort to plan ahead while still experiencing financial instability.

They are focusing on two players in particular as their “top targets” for the summer transfer window.

Wirtz, who is 20 years old, just suffered an ACL injury that placed his career in jeopardy, but he appears to have recovered even better than before this season.

This season, he has started each of Leverkusen’s four Bundesliga games and has contributed to two goals and one assist. In the Europa League this past week against Hacken, he also scored. With the attention of all the biggest teams in Europe, the German wonderkid has the world at his feet.

Any elite team will find it difficult to sign him because Leverkusen is anticipated to ask for more than €100 million, which Barcelona would not be able to pay unless their situation drastically improves. On the plus side, Barça apparently spoke to the player’s father already. This, together with the rumours that Wirtz aspires to play for Barcelona, ought to make them contenders for his services.
