Marco Asensio has denied the possibility of joining Barcelona in the future.
The 26-year-old attacker will be out of contract by the end of this season and there is no progress extending his deal with current club Real Madrid.
He has managed to score 10 goals last season and played only 11 minutes in the 2022/23 season.
He is a back-up figure behind the likes of Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Federico Valverde in Ancelotti’s squad.
There have been rumours of a controversial switch to Barcelona on a potential free transfer next summer.
Overall he has made 239 appearances for Los Blancos, scoring 50 goals, and won three La Liga titles and three Champions Leagues.
“Honestly, I don’t know if they have called. A lot of other clubs have been linked [with me] as well. But it’s normal because in seven months, well, from January actually, I am free to speak to other teams,” Asensio explained to radio station COPE.
“It’s just that I have not thought about [joining Barca] or considered it. Honestly, right now, I can’t give you an answer. I don’t know,” he added.
