Ronald Koeman Confirms Positive Future Plans With Barcelona President

Ronald Koeman lifted the lid on his future plans at Barcelona.

The Cules boss is currently discussing ideas with president, Joan Laporta.

“Everyone, including the president, is working to improve the team knowing the economic situation of the club, which is not the best,” he said. “It’s normal to talk in the last part of the season about the next one.

“Now I am not interested in the names that are mentioned, we have to be aware of the ten remaining matches and the Copa del Rey final.”

Koeman has no plans of resting Frenkie de Jong and Lionel Messi against Real Valladolid. Both players are a booking away from facing suspension and Barcelona face Real Madrid next.

“We know that these two players are one card away, but it is not the time to rest players due to cards or freshness,” he said. “We have ten games left. There is always the risk, but the best thing is to put the team out that I think can win.”

Barcelona are only 4 points behind La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid. With just a few games remaining, anything could happen.
