Tottenham Hotspur signs Barcelona right-back Emerson Royal for £25m.
The North London club has announced the capture of defender Emerson Royal from Barcelona on a five-year deal.
Since his arrival from Atletico Miniero in 2019, he joined Real Betis on loan before returning to Camp Nou before the end of last season.
The 22-year old defender featured in three games for Ronald Koeman’s side and was also part of the Brazil national team in the Copa America final in July.
Arsenal were interested in signing the Brazilian international but the 22-year old preferred his move to Tottenham Hotspur.

“We are delighted to announce the signing of Emerson Royal from Barcelona… the right-back has signed a contract with us until 2026 and will wear the number 12 shirt,” Tottenham said in a statement.
