Barcelona might slip from their pursuit of Girona star Aleix Garcia. They could be blocked in winter attempts to get this player. Xavi made up his mind that he would go for a quality player like him.
Girona are doing great this season and they are in the race for the La Liga title. Garcia is a key player in their squad. The 26-year-old has scored three La Liga goals and provided four assists this term.
Garcia has a €20m release clause in his contract. Barcelona will struggle to sign him due to their financial situation. They made initial contact over a potential transfer.
Girona will also battle out to keep their key player at the Estadi Montilivi and club president Delfi Geli has given a hint on player’s possible interest in the weeks ahead.
“Aleix is totally involved in our season and in our project. He’s happy and will continue with us if there is nothing new. I don’t know if Barca want him or not, but he’s our player and that’s what counts right now”, as per reports from Marca.
