Bernardo Silva is not up for sale this summer, and Manchester City has officially notified Barcelona that they will not engage into discussions

The Blaugrana are actively pursuing the Portuguese international, and manager Xavi Hernandez has urged the team to make his acquisition a top priority.

As a result, the La Liga champions, who missed out on signing Silva last season, have already started putting together a proposal for him, which could either be a loan deal with a buy option or a long-term buy bid of €65 million plus €10 million. Barcelona is reportedly ramping up their chase of Silva, but it appears Manchester City’s position on the player is crystal apparent.

According to Romano, the Premier League winners have formally informed the Blaugrana that they will not enter into negotiations for Silva this summer since they do not wish to trade him. The Italian journalist continues by saying that City had already communicated this to PSG, who had expressed interest in the Portuguese superstar, who has a market value of €80 million.

Pep Guardiola’s team does not want to lose Silva to Barcelona as well, given how crucial the player is to the team, especially after Ilkay Gundogan left for Barcelona earlier this summer. In order to guarantee his future at the Etihad Stadium, the Cityzens are reportedly already attempting to provide him a new deal. Silva needs to make a move and request a transfer in order for Barcelona to have a chance of persuading Manchester City to modify their stance.

The player is rumoured to be interested in moving to Catalonia, and if necessary, it has been suggested that he would be willing to press for a transfer. Silva has not yet taken any such action, and it is unclear whether he will attempt to convince City to stay with him or move on to Barcelona. His role in the operation will be of the utmost importance.
