Manchester City rejects transfer offer for Bernardo Silva from Barcelona

Bernardo Silva’s contract will expire in the summer of 2025.

Barcelona failed in the first attempt of signing Bernardo Silva. Manchester City have reportedly rejected a transfer offer for Portugal international from La Blaugrana.

The Catalan giants have been linked with a move for Silva for over 12 months despite their financial issues blocking any chance of a formal bid.

Pep Guardiola has firmly issued a message of determination to keep the Portuguese at the Etihad this season. Siilva’s contract will expire in the summer of 2025.

The report adds the offer of £50m was instantly turned down by the Cityzens. Premier League giants will only consider the slight potential of a sale, if Barcelona returns with an improved deal in the coming weeks.

Barca head Xavi have publicly admitted their interest in signing him, with Silva rumoured to be open-minded over a possible switch.

Barcelona will still push for Silva despite losing the first chance. Guardiola recently claimed that Man City will try their best to keep the Portugal international at Etihad.
