Barcelona Offered Griezmann To Atletico For Joao Felix

Barcelona had wanted to give Griezmann away in exchange of Joao Felix.

The Catalan club had offered their 29 year old forward as a deal to capture Felix on their side, but Atletico Madrid have reportedly turned down the offer to take Griezmann back.

It looks like Griezmann is falling out of favour with fans and football pundits, for instance, legend Didier Deschamps. Deschamps is convinced that Griezmann and Messi don’t fit at Barcelona – and it makes sense why the Blaugrana want to give Griezmann away, now that even Messi is on the leave.

“I don’t know,” Deschamps told reporters. “On the first part, it doesn’t concern me. It concerns Leo Messi and Barca, so I’m not going to talk about it.

“As for Antoine, can it have an influence? It remains to be seen. The question is more about his position, the position on the pitch. He was sincerely happy to play with Messi. Sometimes it went well and sometimes not so well. Their association is not incompatible.

Further, it has come up that Griezmann himself wanted to leave Barcelona even before Koeman took over as manager.

“Before the [8-2] defeat in the Champions League to Bayern [Munich], Antoine only had the desire to leave Barcelona,” Olhats told RMC.

“The reality is that Griezmann perceived that he was not part of the club’s plans, that he could not continue like this.

“He was seriously studying how to leave. Then what we know happened and a conversation with Koeman reassured him. [Koeman] expressed his plans, because he considers him an important player for the future.”
