Barcelona are a side in need of a revamp in certain major positions.
They have centre back who are over the required age limit. They have midfielders who are ageing as well and need upgrading.
Rakitic is one of those players. He is a smart player who has been of extremely good use to Barcelona.
Froms scoring goals in big matches to keeping the passing philosophy alive in the Barcelona midifeld, Rakitic was the maestro who would pull the strings and dictate the orchestra.
However, he is now past his best and Barcelona are looking to cash in on him by getting Juventus’ Bernadeschi in an exchange deal.
The deal might work for both clubs as Rakitic has been of interest to Juve for long and Bernadeschi is a player Barcelona need.
However, the Juve coach has heard of no such deal in the works.
“Rumors of Federico Bernardeschi being swapped for Rakitic? Nobody said anything to me, so as far as I’m concerned, it’s not an issue,” commented Sarri.
Bernadeschi is a versatile attacking midfielder who can play as a winger as well but is falling down the ranks at Juve under Sarri.
