Sergi Roberto to leave Barcelona this summer amid links with Arsenal

Barcelona are expected to allow Sergi Roberto to walk out of the club for nothing.

Sergi Roberto is likely to leave the club at the end of the season. He is heavily linked with Arsenal and he may move to the Premier League this summer.

The 31-year-old has spent his entire career with Barcelona. He came through the youth ranks before making his first-team debut at the age of 18.

Sergi Roberto has made a total of 363 appearances across all competitions. His contract at the Blaugrana will expire in the summer. He was supposed to extend his contract after Xavi urged the club to activate the player’s one-year extension.

As per the reports of AS, the 31-year-old is likely to follow Xavi and leave the club in June. The report adds that the Barcelona hierarchy currently have no intention of renewing Roberto’s current deal with the club.

Roberto has made just six starts in 14 appearances across all competitions this season. The Catalan giants are expected to allow him to walk out of the club for nothing.

Arsenal are the front-runners to sign the former Spain international. They are eyeing a potential summer move for him. His preferred position is in midfield, but he has plenty of experience operating as a right-back.
